The Sports Network

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Wednesday that they have signed unrestricted free agent safety Pierson Prioleau, and have also waived quarterback Lester Ricard.

The 5-foot-11, 188-pound Prioleau is entering his 10th NFL season, having spent the last three seasons with the Washington Redskins. In 2007 he made 38 tackles in 15 games, including four starts, while also accumulating 16 special teams stops. Originally a fourth-round draft pick of San Francisco in 1999, the 30-year-old Virginia Tech product has totaled 353 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception in 113 career games with the 49ers, Bills and Redskins.

Ricard, a 6-foot-5, 222-pound Tulane product who has never seen action in a regular season NFL game, spent his rookie season on the Jags' practice squad.
