The Super Aguri team has announced its withdrawal from Formula One racing, effective immediately.
Founded by former F1 driver Aguri Suzuki, the team was in its third season on the Formula One circuit. The Honda-powered Japanese outfit ran into financial troubles last year, and a planned buyout fell through last month.
"With the help of Honda, we have somehow managed to keep the team going, but we find it difficult to establish a way to continue the activities in the future within the environment surrounding F1 and as a result, I have concluded to withdraw from the championship," Suzuki said in a statement.
With drivers Anthony Davidson and Takuma Sato, the Super Aguri team had not registered a point through four races in this year's series.
