Freshman John Pierre poured in 19 of his 21 points in the second half to help Westwood Christian overcome a seven-point halftime deficit and beat Miami Christian 59-46 for the first time in 16 years on Tuesday night.

Miami Christian fell to its 16-2A rival despite being heavily favored to win the district game.

Freshman point guard Jose Carabano added 15 points and six assists for the Victors.

Westwood Christian outscored Miami Christian by 20 points in the second half to earn the victory.
