Broward teams in the lead
With Florida's winter sports competition complete, Cypress Bay and St. Thomas Aquinas each sit high in 2007-08 Dodge Sunshine Cup All-Sports Awards points standings, which were released by the FHSAA earlier this week.
Both schools are second in their respective classes, with Cypress Bay 36.5 points behind Port Orange Spruce Creek for the top spot in 6A, and St. Thomas just 12 points in back of Tampa Plant for the 5A lead.

Thursday -- South Broward d. Flanagan 18-25, 25-15, 25-13, 25-22: Alex Alfonso led the Bulldogs (6-1) with 17 kills, nine points and two aces. Justin Romeu had 12 kills, six points and two digs. Junior Pereira had four kills and 13 points.
