Ramirez was acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox in 2005, not 2004. The story incorrectly stated the teams to which outfielder Juan Pierre and catcher Paul LoDuca were traded. Pierre went to the Chicago Cubs and Lo Duca went to the New York Mets. The story also misstated the year in which a Marlins-Expos series was moved to Montreal because of Hurricane Ivan. The series was in 2004.

• A story Saturday on Page 1B of Metro & State and 5B of Broward & State about American Idol contestant Syesha Mercado incorrectly stated that she is the first Floridian to reach the final three in the popular television singing competition. Vonzell Solomon of Fort Myers finished third in 2005.
