• A story on Metrorail stations in Hialeah, which appeared in Thursday’s Local & State section, inaccurately described the service changes prompted by maintenance work on the rail tracks between Okeechobee and Palmetto Metrorail stations. At the Palmetto station, riders need to take a free shuttle bus, as the train platform will be closed. (The Palmetto station will remain open for ticket purchases.) At the Okeechobee station, passengers can access the southbound train. But for the northbound train, they need to take a free shuttle bus, which will operate on a schedule approximating the Metrorail schedule.
• A photo caption on page 4G of the Business Monday section misstated what was depicted in the photo. Armour Group’s manufacturing manager, Rob Carignan, was inspecting some ballistic glass that was shattered in testing at the company’s facility.
• A story on page 6B on Saturday incorrectly reported the fundraising totals for the U.S. Senate campaign of U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, R-Fort Myers. Although final Federal Election Commission reports aren’t yet available, Mack’s campaign reports he has raised $758,394 since entering the race.
• In Linda Cicero’s Cook’s Corner column, which appeared in Thursday’s Tropical Life section, production errors resulted in two mistakes. The recipe for Harry Kramer’s Pickled Green Tomatoes should have instructed: “Now fill the jar with 1 cup of hot tap water mixed with 1 teaspoon of salt.” In addition, the coleslaw recipe referred to in the column was omitted. Both recipes are available at MiamiHerald.com/food, and the coleslaw recipe will be printed in next week’s column.
• On Page 1D Sunday, coach Don Shula’s regular-season winning percentage with the Dolphins was incorrect. His winning percentage was .658.
• An article on page 2M of Sunday’s Tropical Life previewing the Cleveland Orchestra’s season-opening concerts contained incorrect dates. The concerts are Friday and Saturday. In addition, a class scheduled for Wednesday at the Frost School of Music has been canceled.
• A photo caption on Page 1B on Thursday misstated the date Girl Scout Cookies will go on sale in Broward County. They will be sold from Jan. 19 to Feb. 12. Sales in Miami-Dade County began Thursday.
• The First Look feature on Page 3E of Thursday’s Tropical Life section, which was printed in advance, gives an incorrect telephone number for the restaurant Philippe. The number is 305-674-0250.
• An article about the 1991 Key Largo murders of Susan and Michael MacIvor that appeared on page 6B on Jan. 7 stated that Michael MacIvor was arrested in 1987 on a drug charge. He was never convicted, which the article failed to mention.
• A story on a civil lawsuit against former executives of CompUSA that appeared Monday on page 1A incorrectly stated the work status of former officers Gilbert, Carl, and Patrick Fiorentino. Carl and Patrick Fiorentino were fired from the company. Gilbert Fiorentino reached an agreement with the company and resigned in spring 2011.
Monday’s front page listed an incorrect day for the Disney Marathon. The 26.2-mile race through the theme parks near Orlando will be on Sunday. The error was made in the editing process.
• A front-page graphic Saturday on South Florida’s top 10 memorable moments noted the wrong police department that in 2011 engaged in a feud with the Florida Highway Patrol. It was the Miami Police Department.
• The Stargazer column on Page 2E of Saturday's Tropical Life section was intended for publication on Dec. 31. The meteor shower occurs in the predawn of Jan. 4.
• To our subscribers: On Thursday, newspaper carriers serving Coral Gables, South Miami, West Miami and Westchester areas were delayed after the truck carrying their papers was involved in an accident. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the late delivery of your newspaper.
A story published online on Dec. 10 and in print on Dec. 11 about charter schools incorrectly reported that the salaries of the principal and several teachers at the Ben Gamla schools in Hollywood and Plantation were significantly higher than those paid at other charter schools.
• A story on the cover of Sunday’s Home & Design section about a Pinecrest garden and greenhouse misspelled Dominic Lomando’s name.
• A column item in Sunday’s Tropical Life section gave a wrong date for the Cleveland Orchestra’s January concerts at the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. The orchestra will perform Jan. 27 and 28.
• The Week Ahead, on 1A Monday, said that the film “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” opens Friday at area theaters. The film will open sometime in January in South Florida.
• A story about classes as holiday gifts in Thursday’s Tropical Life section gave incorrect price information for the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Coral Gables. An introductory package of two 30-minute private lessons and one 45-minute group class is $33.
• A summary preceding Wednesday’s front-page article on the Miccosukee Tribe suing its lawyer misstated the time span that Dexter Lehtinen was paid for his advice. According to the lawsuit, the tribe paid him $50 million over the past two decades. The timeframe in the article is correct.
