A blaze tore through a North Miami storage facility early Monday morning, destroying half the storage units.
Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the storage units at Northeast 185th Street and Fifth Avenue when firefighters arrived at about 2 a.m.
The steel doors and corrugated metal walls separating the units complicated the fire fight, according to Lt. Arnold Piedrahita, a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesman.
It took 70 firefighters about 2 ½ hours to extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Half of the facilities 80 storage units were destroyed.
No one was injured.
