Check these websites to stay up to date on product safety and search for current and past recalls:

• Recalls.gov: A comprehensive portal to search consumer product recalls issued by six government agencies, where you can sign up for e-mail notifications of new recalls.

• Consumer Product Safety Commission, www.cpsc.gov: Aside from recall information, the CPSC's website allows you to report unsafe products online, offers tips on home hazards and more.

• Food and Drug Administration, www.fda.gov: Contains the latest on FDA actions and opinions on pharmaceuticals, medical hazards, pet food and the various other products the agency regulates. Use the site's RSS feed to create a customized list of FDA news you want.

• National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration, www.nhtsa.gov: Get details on recalls, safety bulletins and defect investigations on cars, motorcycles, tires and child car seats, as well as the latest government crash test results and more.
