Q:I'm one of those happy guys married to a woman who still enjoys sex after all these years. We sometimes have sex three or four times a week. I have been using medications to help my erection, but I can't always know exactly when to use them since I can't predict when we will do it. What's a guy to do?
A: The FDA just approved Cialis to be taken on a daily basis. Although Cialis has been on the market for years, it has been prescribed and used on an as-needed basis. The medical information on this product shows it works up to 36 hours after a man ingests it. But clinical trials show that if a low dose of Cialis is taken daily, it is safe and effective to provide erections virtually anytime the couple desires. The idea is that men would take it like a vitamin and never be worried about their timing.
The approach is not for everyone. It probably makes the most sense to consider a once-daily Cialis for those couples who are active at least twice a week and who don't have a set schedule of when they make love. It's likely to take the pressure off couples who don't like to talk about when to take the pill. If taken daily it could really take the pressure off of men in terms of always wondering if they are physically ready to perform. The world of medicine is certainly advancing in the right direction when we give couples a chance to be more spontaneous in their approach to lovemaking.
