Justine Colee, right, and friends taste Parducci Wine Cellars wine at the American Express Grand Tasting in the Publix Grand Tasting Village at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival Saturday afternoon on Miami Beach.
Paul and Leanne Sutton of Davie didn't get their hands on tickets for Saturday's sold-out Grand Tasting until just before the gates opened. They paid a broker $225 each (list price was $187.50 plus tax and fees), but they weren't complaining.
''As long as I'm here, I don't care,'' said Leanne, waiting in a long line for a Bobby Flay autograph. ``I'm a Food Network junkie.
''This is my Super Bowl. We went to his,'' she said, pointing to her husband. ``This is mine.''
South Beach dietitian Erin Corrigan and her friend Becky Mehr, visiting from Alabama, went through unofficial channels, too, but ended up getting a bargain.
''We got a pair of tickets for $200,'' from scalpers outside the festival, Corrigan said. ``It took 10 minutes, tops.''
Thursday night, the friends said, they did even better, snagging $150 tickets to Paula Deen's Poker Party and Casino Night on craigslist for $50 each.
