Most Seraphic Fire performances showcase the choir as a collective, but this weekend's season-closing program, Music for Kings, will present Seraphic Fire members in the solo spotlight in opera and oratorio arias by Handel and Mozart. The versatile Richard Stoltzman returns this weekend for an eclectic mix of classical and jazz, presented by Sunday Afternoons of Music. Backed by his son, pianist Peter Stoltzman, the celebrated clarinetist will offer Bernstein's Clarinet Sonata and songs from West Side Story, Debussy's Premiere Rhapsody, Messiaen's L'Abime des oiseaux, and music of Gershwin, Ellington and Monk. The Colony Theater will play host to two operatic events this weekend.
