Posted on Fri, Apr. 25, 2008
Cuban artist Quisqueya Henríquez, who lived in Miami from 1993 to 1997, has earned international accolades for a wide range of work that seeks to bridge Caribbean culture and 'the world outside.' Now living in Santo Domingo, Henríquez's work of the last two decades is the subject of Quisqueya Henríquez: The World Outside, A Survey Exhibition 1991-2007, which opens Friday at the Miami Art Museum. The selection of 22 sculptures, installations, drawings, photographs and video -- including the collage on newsprint Untitled (Baseball Players) -- comes from the Bronx Museum of Arts, where the show earned rave reviews.

Flagler St., Miami; open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday; until 8:30 p.m. on third Thursdays; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
