Tonalist and Wicked Strong lead Travers nominations

Saratoga Springs, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Belmont Stakes winner Tonalist and Jim Dandy champ Wicked Strong lead the 15 3-year-olds nominated for the 1 1/4-mile, $1.25 million Travers Stakes on Aug. 23 at Saratoga.

Along with Tonalist and Wicked Strong, the nominations include Haskell winner Bayern, Prince of Wales Stakes champ Coltimus Prime, Kentucky Derby runner-up Commanding Curve, Belmont Derby winner Mr Speaker and Wildcat Red, winner of the Fountain of Youth Stakes.

The 145th Travers, also known as the "Mid-Summer Derby," was won last year by Will Take Charge on his way to being voted 2013 champion 3-year-old colt.
