Indians place Murphy, Swisher on DL

The Sports Network

Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Indians placed right fielder David Murphy and first baseman Nick Swisher on the 15-day disabled list Sunday.

Murphy is sidelined with a right abdominal strain, while right knee soreness has put Swisher on the shelf.

The Indians filled the roster spots by recalling outfielder Tyler Holt and infielder/outfielder Zach Walters from Triple-A Columbus.

Murphy is batting .262 with seven home runs and 55 RBI over 109 games this season. Swisher has hit .208 with eight homers and 42 RBI in 97 games.
