Cardinals release LB Sims

Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Cardinals released linebacker Ernie Sims on Thursday.

Sims signed a one-year deal with Arizona back in June. He spent the past two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and appeared in 22 games with 12 starts.

The former first-round pick has appeared in 109 career games, including 87 as a starter, with the Lions, Eagles, Colts and Cowboys. He has recorded 622 tackles with 5 1/2 sacks and one interception.
