The Associated Press

A teenage boy is dead after a jon boat overturned on Lake Schimmerhorn in central Florida.

Two other teens survived the Thursday afternoon incident on the lake.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the 14-year-old boy yelled for help from the other boys, but by the time they got to him he was underwater. One of the boys swam to shore and sought help from a nearby home.

Officials found the boy's body later Thursday.

Investigators hope to recover the boat from the bottom of the lake on Friday morning.

An investigation is continuing.
