Blue Jays claim Mills off waivers

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Pitcher Brad Mills has been claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays from the Oakland Athletics, the A's announced Thursday.

Mills, who was designated for assignment by Oakland on July 7 following the acquisitions of Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel from the Cubs, went 1-1 with a 4.41 ERA in three starts for the A's.

The 29-year-old will return to the Toronto organization, where he spent his first three seasons in the big leagues. Mills has gone 4-4 with a 6.98 ERA in 18 career games over five seasons with the A's, Blue Jays and Los Angeles Angels.
