Radio personality charged with allegedly operating a Ponzi scheme

Haitian radio personality Philippe Bourciquot has been charged with allegedly operating a Ponzi scheme in South Florida, according to the Florida Office of Financial Regulation and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Miami Regional Operations Center. The agencies on Thursday announced the arrest of Bourciquot, who was charged with racketeering, securities fraud, grand theft and money laundering in connection with the scheme.

Bourciquot allegedly used his radio shows to solicit investments, luring investors by promising 8 percent monthly returns and purportedly guaranteeing investors could not lose money, the agencies said. Their investigation revealed that much of the investors’ money was used to pay previous investors and also for Bourciquot’s personal benefit.

If anyone feels they are a victim of fraud or wishes to report suspicious activity, they can file a complaint with the Office of Financial Regulation at, or call (850) 487-9687. Creole-speaking victims may call the Miami field office at (305) 536-0308.
