Four great years, four finals, two championships: We are all grateful for the run. We thank LeBron James for doing his part and then some. But despite all the accolades, I take a different view.
He said he became a better man in Miami. I’m not so sure. What did his departure say to me? That he’s selfish and ungrateful to the guys who helped him get those two rings.
Let us all remember Dwyane Wade started this great run. With Pat Riley, he brought James and Chris Bosh here and led them all to take a little less in order to get something bigger. When James ended the run, Wade didn’t jump ship or ask the Heat for more money. No, he said he was flexible on his salary for the sake of the team. In my book, Wade is the better man and much more the class act. Maybe that’s why he has three rings.
