Fla. post is largest in world for American Legion

The Associated Press

A post of the American Legion in central Florida is the largest in the world.

The 5,000-plus-member veterans group's Post 347 in Lady Lake has for the second straight year been deemed the organization's biggest.

Even so, American Legion leaders have challenged the post to add another 2,000 members in the next year.

Most of the members of Post 347 are from The Villages, the sprawling retirement community. The Villages Daily Sun reports (http://bit.ly/1qVviWA ) they've managed to help the post buck the national trend of declining membership in the American Legion.
