Bastad, Sweden (SportsNetwork.com) - Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, the lone seeded player on Monday's schedule, was eliminated in the first round of the Swedish Open.

American Grace Min pulled off the upset of the second-seeded Russian with a 6-0, 6-4 victory. Min was coming off a semifinal run last week at the Gastein Ladies tournament.

Other winners Monday in the main draw included South Africa's Chanelle Scheepers, Slovakia's Jana Cepelova and Spain's Lara Arruabarrena.

Scheepers cruised to a 6-3, 6-4 win over Colombia's Mariana Duque-Marino and Cepelova topped Swedish wild card Rebecca Peterson, 6-4, 6-4. The 18-year-old Peterson was the youngest player in the draw. Arruabarrena was ahead 6-1, 4-2 when Romania's Irina Camelia-Begu retired.

Polana Hercog of Slovenia is the only former champion in this week's draw. She won back-to-back titles in 2011-12. Serena Williams was last year's winner.
