State upgrades mobile app to help Ohio veterans

The Associated Press

Ohio has upgraded its mobile app for veterans to provide more information on job and education resources.

The Ohio Department of Veterans Services launched its mobile app in November to give veterans an overview of available federal and state benefits and how to apply for them.

The app upgraded this month provides additional resources to student veterans and veterans looking for work. It also offers news of interest to veterans.

An "In Crisis" button on the app provides direct access to a toll-free, 24/7 hotline or a website with a live chat feature. It allows veterans or their family members in difficult circumstances to communicate directly with a counselor.

The free app is available from Windows, Google Play and iTunes stores by searching the key words "Ohio veteran."
