Arkansas' Flowers on Nagurski Trophy watch list

The Associated Press

University of Arkansas defensive end Trey Flowers has been named to the watch list for the 2014 Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

The Football Writers Association of America and the Charlotte Touchdown Club announced the watch list Thursday for the trophy given annually to the player selected as college football's defensive player of the year. It is named after Bronko Nagurski, a member of both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame who played for the University of Minnesota and the Chicago Bears.

Flowers will be a senior this season after being named to the All-Southeastern Conference second team as a junior.
