Predators re-sign D Ekholm to 2-year deal

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Nashville Predators re-signed defenseman Mattias Ekholm to a two-year, $2.075 million contract on Wednesday.

Ekholm, who was a restricted free agent, had one goal and eight assists in 62 games last season, his first full campaign with the Predators.

The 24-year-old Swede was selected by Nashville in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Draft. He appeared in two games with the Predators in 2011-12 and one the following season.
