Edmond, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Larry Mize withdrew from the U.S. Senior Open on Sunday due to a back injury.

The 1987 Masters champion has played in the last five U.S. Senior Opens with a share of eighth in 2010 being his best finish.

Mize, 55, was replaced in the field by Daniel Koesters, who will be making his first start at the U.S. Senior Open.

Koesters will play the first two rounds with former U.S. Open champion Steve Jones and Loren Roberts, who has won four majors on the Champions Tour.
