Caps ink Kennedy, Newbury

Arlington, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Capitals have signed forwards Tim Kennedy and Kris Newbury to one-year, two-way contracts.

Kennedy appeared in 37 games for the Coyotes last season and posted two goals with six assists for eight points. The 28-year-old Buffalo native has 15 goals and 24 assists for 39 points in 162 NHL games with the Coyotes, Sharks, Panthers and Sabres.

Newbury collected one assist in four games for Philadelphia last season. The 32-year-old Ontario native has four goals and six assists for 10 points in 76 NHL games with the Flyers, Rangers, Red Wings and Maple Leafs.
