Jets snare C Perreault

The Sports Network

Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Winnipeg Jets agreed to terms with center Mathieu Perreault on a three-year, $9 million contract on Tuesday's opening day of the NHL free agency period.

Perreault is coming off a 2013-14 campaign in which he established career bests for goals (18) and points (43) while with Anaheim, but the Ducks did not extend the then-restricted free agent a qualifying offer after acquiring center Ryan Kesler from Vancouver last week.

The 26-year-old Perreault spent four seasons with the Washington Capitals prior to being traded to the Ducks last September. In 228 career NHL games, the Quebec native has amassed 51 goals and 62 assists.
