Rockies shelve Chacin again

The Sports Network

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado Rockies have placed right- handed pitcher Jhoulys Chacin on the 15-day disabled list Monday because of shoulder inflammation.

Chacin, who missed the first month of the season with a right shoulder strain, was hammered by the Brewers his last time out, giving up seven runs to drop his third straight start.

The outing saw his ERA rise to 5.40 over 11 starts this year, which would be a career-worst mark.

The club recalled reliever Chad Bettis to take Chacin's spot on the roster. Bettis has struggled in 13 appearances out of Colorado's bullpen this year, giving up 16 earned runs in just 14 1/3 innings of work.
