Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Buffalo Sabres selected left wing Brendan Lemieux with the first pick of the second round (31st overall) Saturday at the NHL Entry Draft.

The son of longtime NHLer and four-time Stanley Cup champion Claude Lemieux, Brendan Lemieux's playing style mirrors the feistiness for which his father was known.

Brendan Lemieux, 18, finished tied for third on the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League this past season with 53 points, including 27 goals, and led the club with 145 penalty minutes.
