Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bulls acquired the draft rights to Creighton star Doug McDermott on Thursday night in a trade with the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets drafted McDermott No. 11 overall and dealt him to the Bulls along with Anthony Randolph in exchange for the rights to the 16th and 19th picks this year and a second-round selection in 2015.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced the trade during the first round.

Denver ended up with Croatia's Jusuf Nurkic at No. 16 and Michigan State's Gary Harris at No. 19.

McDermott ended his four-year career as Creighton's all-time leading scorer after averaging 21.7 points over 145 games and was the consensus national player of the year as a senior.

Randolph has averaged 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in six NBA seasons with Golden State, New York, Minnesota and Denver.
