Rockies' Bergman out at least six weeks with broken hand

The Sports Network

Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado Rockies right-handed pitcher Christian Bergman will miss at least six weeks with a broken bone in his left hand.

Bergman was struck in the hand by a line drive off the bat of Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez on Friday and had hoped to make his scheduled start on Wednesday against St. Louis.

Instead, Bergman will likely be heading to the 15-day disabled list after an MRI revealed a break in the trapezium bone at the heel of his hand.

Yohan Flande will be called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs to make his MLB debut on Wednesday in place of Bergman.
