Renovated marina to debut in Dania Beach

Gazebos with pier views and a boat lounge may sound like the new South Florida boat-themed hotspot.

But the additions are part of the newest renovations to the Dania Beach Marina, 151 N. Beach Rd.

The city of Dania Beach will be unveiling the marina’s $7.5 million rejuvenation at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Improvements include a covered pavilion, an environmentally friendly pump-out facility and fish cleaning stations, a laundry and restroom area and 120 floating concrete docks with utility hookups.

The renovations transformed the once rundown and defunct marina, said Assistant City Manager Colin Donnelly.

“Now we have a state-of-the art marina that caters to local and transient boaters alike,” he said.

The city bought the marina in 2007. Renovations were then completed in two phases to accommodate long-term tenants staying at the marina.

The changes are stark, said Clive Taylor, chairman of the Dania Beach marine advisory board.

“ It will be a marina destination for boaters,” Taylor said.
