eMerge Americas makes leadership changes

As the eMerge Americas team moves forward on planning its next technology conference, planned for April 29-May 6, 2015, the organization has made leadership changes.

Nelson Fonseca, formerly president of Terremark and a current partner of Medina Capital, will take over as acting CEO of The Technology Foundation of the Americas, the organization that produced the eMerge Americas conference at the Miami Beach Convention Center last month. He replaces Diane Sanchez, who helped lead the inaugural conference that attracted more than 6,000 attendees, 400 participating companies and 150 speakers.

Giraldo Gutierrez, who was vice president of partnerships and alliances for the foundation, will become chief operating officer, and Xavier Gonzalez will continue as executive director of the foundation, under the leadership of its founder and chairman, Manny Medina.
