Padres place Alonso on 15-day DL

San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Padres placed first baseman Yonder Alonso on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with right wrist tendinitis.

Alonso has played in 69 games this season for the Padres, hitting .210 with five home runs and 22 RBI.

San Diego selected outfielder Jake Goebbert from Triple-A El Paso to replace Alonso on the active roster.

Goebbert, who has never played in the majors, has hit .264 with 11 home runs and 43 RBI between Triple-A Sacramento and El Paso.
