The other semi will pit Slovak Magdalena Rybarikova against Chinese Zheng Jie. Rybarikova defeated German Annika Beck 6-2, 7-5, while Zheng zipped past Ukrainian Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-0.
This week's champion will earn $47,000.
