Twins place Plouffe on DL, recall Florimon

The Sports Network

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Twins placed third baseman Trevor Plouffe on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation between the ninth rib and the costal cartilage on his left side.

Plouffe got hurt while diving for a ball in Saturday's game against the Detroit Tigers.

In 64 games this season, Plouffe is hitting .241 with 22 doubles, five homers and 38 RBI.

To replace Plouffe on the 25-man roster, the Twins recalled infielder Pedro Florimon from Triple-A Rochester. Florimon played in 25 games with Minnesota earlier this year.
