Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated catcher A.J. Ellis from the 15-day disabled list on Friday.

Ellis' playing time has been limited this season after undergoing left knee surgery in April and spending his latest stint on the DL with a right ankle sprain that he suffered while celebrating Josh Beckett's no-hitter against Philadelphia on May 25.

In 15 games this season, the 33-year-old has batted .170 with two doubles and one RBI.

In a corresponding move, catcher Tim Federowicz was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Federowicz has hit .131 with one homer and five RBI this season for the Dodgers.
