St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Rays activated catcher Ryan Hanigan from the 15-day disabled list prior to Wednesday's game against St. Louis.

Hanigan will start after missing 14 games with right hamstring tightness. He last played in Tampa Bay's 10-5 loss to Toronto on May 26.

In his first season with the Rays and eighth in the majors, the 33-year-old has hit for an average of .212 with three home runs and 22 RBI across 42 games.

To make room for Hanigan on the roster, Tampa Bay optioned catcher Ali Solis to Triple-A Durham.
