Phillies agree to terms with Nola

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies agreed to terms with pitcher Aaron Nola on Tuesday.

Nola was selected seventh overall by the Phillies in the first round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft.

The right-hander just completed his junior season at Louisiana State University, going 11-1 with a 1.47 ERA and 134 strikeouts. The Tigers went 15-1 in his 16 starts.

Nola finished his career at LSU with a 30-6 record and a 2.09 ERA. He was honored as the Southeastern Conference's Pitcher of the Year in both 2013 and 2014, the only player in conference history to win the award twice.
