Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks activated right- handed reliever J.J. Putz from the 15-day disabled list in a flurry of moves made by the club on Monday.

Putz was placed on the DL on May 6 with forearm tightness and is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA in 13 relief appearances this season.

Arizona also placed infielder Eric Chavez on the DL, recalled Will Harris from Triple-A Reno and designated right-handed pitcher Trevor Cahill for assignment.

Chavez is batting .246 with three homers and eight RBI in 43 games with the D- backs, while Harris makes his return to the club he began the year with.

Harris, 29, has held opponents scoreless in 10 of his last 11 games at Reno and owns a 3-2 record with a 1.13 ERA in 24 innings. He went 0-1 with a 9.72 ERA in seven games earlier this season with the D-backs before being optioned to Triple-A.

Cahill went 1-6 with one save and a 5.66 ERA in 19 games -- four starts -- this season.
