Financial management firms merging

 

Two South Florida financial management firms said Monday they are merging.

Evensky & Katz Wealth Management announced the merger with Foldes Financial Management.

The Foldes employees will leave their Miami office to join Evensky & Katz in Coral Gables.

The merged registered investment advisory firm will have 25 employees and be responsible for managing assets of nearly $1.5 billion.

    Healthcare serial entrepreneur Phillip Frost is leading an $825,000 investment in Drone Aviation Holding Corp., a Jacksonville-based drone development company. The chairman and CEO of Miami-based Opko Health, a specialty pharmaceutical and biotech company, will also lead Drone Aviation’s board.
