Miami-Dade Police’s Public Corruption Unit arrested a 22-year worker with the county’s Water & Sewer Plant on theft charges for stealing county supplies.
Timothy Williamson, 56, an electrician was charged with stealing supplies from his job and selling them at various locations where they would end up at pawn shops in South Miami-Dade.
Police say Williamson has been stealing the supplies for some 10 years, pawning in excess of $5,000, they say.
In an ongoing investigation, police discovered Miami-Dade supplies at Kash Kingdom, a private company at 26880 S. Dixie Highway. The investigation revealed that items had been purchased from Williamson, police said. A suspect at the business told police Williamson had been bringing in items for years.
Williamson, of Doral, requested that he not be paid in cash, but in cocaine or marijuana from the pawn broker.
He was charged with possession of cocaine, grand theft, dealing in stolen property and official misconduct
Police say additional arrests may be forthcoming.
