Ogwumike captures rookie monthly honor

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Connecticut's Chiney Ogwumike was named the WNBA's top rookie for the month of May.

Ogwumike led all rookies with averages of 17.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks during the month. She also led the WNBA in total offensive rebounds with 24.

The first overall pick of the 2014 WNBA Draft is tied with two others for the league lead with four double-doubles. She has scored in double figures in each of the Sun's seven games.
