Saints sign Goodwin, Deaderick

Metairie, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New Orleans Saints signed center Jonathan Goodwin and defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick to one-year contracts on Tuesday.

Goodwin, who played for the Saints from 2006-10, started all 48 games over the past three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.

Originally selected by the New York Jets in the fifth round of the 2002 NFL Draft, Goodwin has appeared in 181 career games with 108 starts. He hasn't missed a start since 2008.

Deaderick played in 13 games with one start for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013.

The 26-year-old Deaderick spent three years with the New England Patriots before joining the Jaguars. He has 54 tackles and 5 1/2 sacks in 47 career games with 15 starts.

The Saints also waived guard Mike Golic Jr. and linebacker Spencer Hadley.
