Padres pick up Herrera from A's to complete Blanks deal

Phoenix, AZ ( - The San Diego Padres have acquired pitcher Ronald Herrera from Oakland as the player to be named later in the May 15 deal that sent Kyle Blanks to the Athletics.

Herrera was 3-4 with a 3.38 ERA in nine starts for Single-A Beloit. The 19- year-old right-hander was signed by Oakland in December 2011 and owns a career minor league mark of 12-12 with a 3.36 ERA in 39 games, including 33 starts, in three seasons.

San Diego also obtained outfielder Jake Goebbert in the trade.
