I read the May 23 article Beckham reveals another site plan, and I am incensed. I believe the port site proposal was a smokescreen from the start to divert attention from the Museum Park site.
I have seen Bicentennial Park cut up, the Heat never made good on their promises to have a public park in Parcel B and now County Mayor Carlos Gimenez wants to give away most of the remaining green space?
Our politicians seem to hate public parks and green areas and are willing to let private investors profit from them.
The county has never gotten its promised share of profits from the Heat and now is willing to give away what’s left of this beautiful park.
A soccer stadium would block the park view. It is a shame how Miami fails to protect its waterfront park.
