Darvish scratched, to have MRI on neck

The Sports Network

Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Texas Rangers scratched pitcher Yu Darvish from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field due to neck stiffness.

Darvish will undergo a precautionary MRI. At this point, no determination has been made on when he will make his next start.

The Rangers said that Scott Baker, who pitched Friday against the Tigers, will start in Darvish's place.

Darvish reported the stiffness when he woke up late Tuesday morning. He underwent treatment and reported some improvement but is still experiencing some stiffness.

Darvish opened the season on the 15-day disabled list with a similar injury.

Darvish is 4-2 with a 2.35 ERA in nine starts in 2014.
