OUR OPINION: South Floridians stepped up — let’s remember them

The casualties of war have faces and names, were flesh and blood and not simply numbers and stats. The Miami Herald pays tribute to South Floridians lost in battle in Afghanistan and Iraq. These men and women, who listed their hometown in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach County, died in Operation Iraqi Freedom between 2003 and 2012:
