Oakland's Moss named AL Player of the Week

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Oakland Athletics first baseman and outfielder Brandon Moss was named the American League Player of the Week on Monday.

Moss batted .455 with three homers and an MLB-best 11 RBI in six games last week. He hit five doubles, drew five walks, scored eight runs and had a .556 on-base percentage.

Among the other players the league cited for standout performances last week were Detroit's Miguel Cabrera, Boston's David Ortiz and Cleveland's David Murphy.
