Reality show personality Tamar Braxton made a name for herself by almost being a no-show to designer Michael Costello’s Pinnacle Collection fashion show Saturday at the Temple House on South Beach. Braxton, for whom three front row seats were reserved, arrived minutes before the show ended. Says an eyewitness: “It was a fashion faux pas. Three front row seats remained empty.” She arrived in time to sashay down the runway in one of the designer’s frocks at the end of the show, our spy says.
Baxton, however, showed up at prime time Sunday when she and R&B singer sister Toni headed to Prime Italian for dinner where the sisters filmed an episode of their WE reality show Braxton Family Values.
Dennis Rodman celebrated his 53rd birthday Saturday night at E11even, sporting a festive black hat jazzed up by feathers and rhinestones. He and his crew, which included ex NBA player Mark Strickland and Two Live Crew’s Fresh Kid Ice, held court in the swank strip club’s VIP pit. And, says a source, although bottles of Rodman’s own Original Bad Ass Premium vodka were seen in the VIP section, the allegedly recently rehabbed controversy magnet was seen only smoking cigars and sipping from a water bottle. At 2:30 a.m., E11even partner Gino LoPinto took to the mic to wish Rodman a happy birthday, followed by a “cake processional,” complete with a life sized poster cut out of Rodman’s face in case his larger than life presence just wasn’t enough. Rodman then got on the mic himself, thanking everyone with a “heartfelt speech,” that advised everyone to “take care of themselves and to drive home safe.” Said our snitch, “He was strangely on his best behavior.”
Joe Simpson, Jessica’s dad, was seen Sunday in the lobby of the Shore Club with a young male companion.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills loose cannon Brandi Glanville, in town for something that has to do with her upcoming gig on Celebrity Apprentice, was seen Friday night at The Forge’s Veuve Clicquot happy hour with a female pal before sitting down in the main room for dinner.
